In February 2010, PlayStation 3's world wide encountered severe connectivity issues due to problems with the on-board clock. The PlayStation 3, the original – not the slim version, is programmed with an invalid leap year reference for 2010. Due to the fact the PS3 believes this year is a leap year, February is being considered to be over 28 days long in 2010.

The Playstation 3 is a Sony produced games console and according to most is the leader of the current games console generation due to its high specification. However, it carries a high price tag thus, in pure sales terms, it being beated by the Nintendo Wii games console.
